How "66 Oil & Supply Co." came about....

I guess I've been known to take some different approaches to things before and my friends will tell you for years I have incessantly rambled on about business ideas, some too far fetched, some maybe feasible, some maybe even workable but here the last little while it's all been about quitting work so I have the time to get all of my own stuff caught up on. Seems like I can't quit scheming though, must be the way I'm wired. I wanted a side hustle that I could eventually turn into an enjoyable retirement business and it looks like I found one that matches my profile.

I've been a computer nerd for years so the original idea was to build a drop-ship website for diecast models but after I bought the old Rt 66 building from Erik Lowes, something else came together that I think matches me and the old building too.

I'm now in the Lucas oil business. Being a distributor for their whole line, I'll have the opportunity to sell products from a company with an impeccable reputation and my old building will be the perfect backdrop for a nostalgic Route 66 oil business, hence the name "66 Oil & Supply Co." For now I'm just working on the building and the inventory and selling to some friends but the website works and you can message me on FB or catch me there. I wasn't expecting to have a store just yet so I'm not sure how to man it for any kind of regular hours. I didn't think I'd start another business at 65 but I think this one will be laid back and fun for the future. I'll have a cool place for you to come buy Lucas Oil Products and more. I hope to make it a unique Route 66 stop. Come on by, the coffee pot's always on!

Thanks,
Randy Cape
